Packing for Paradise: Essentials for a Stylish & Relaxing Stay at Lovango

Nestled on a private island just a short boat ride from St. John and St. Thomas, Lovango Resort + Beach Club offers a unique blend of luxury and natural beauty. Our family was seeking both relaxation and adventure, our experience at Lovango was nothing short of exceptional. They have kindly extended my code BETH for 2025 bookings - and no passport needed.

Packing for St. John and Lovango Resort + Beach Club was all about effortless, chic, and versatile pieces that could take me from lazy beach days to sunset cocktails. I kept my suitcase filled with easy-to-wear resort wear, bold swim styles, and accessories that make a statement.l

Here’s what I packed:
Breezy Co-ord Sets – Lightweight matching sets are my go-to for an effortlessly put-together look. Chic Swimwear – A mix of classic bikinis, bold colors, and flattering one-pieces for lounging by the infinity pool and snorkeling in crystal-clear waters. Flowy Dresses & Cover-Ups – Easy to throw on for daytime adventures or a sunset dinner. Statement Hats & Accessories – Sun protection, but make it stylish…because a good hat and sunglasses are non-negotiable. Comfy Sandals & Beach-Ready Pieces – Keeping it cool and comfortable while exploring the island.

We stayed in one of their gorgeous treehouse suites and glamping tent, which provided the perfect mix of comfort and immersion in nature. Waking up to panoramic ocean views and the gentle sounds of the sea was truly rejuvenating. The tent was well-appointed with modern amenities, and an outdoor shower that offered a refreshing start to the day. Because Chase was doing her collegiate thing, we invited Campbell’s gal pal, Caroline, to join us and what a wonderful addition she was. John, Calvin, and myself stayed in the Treehouse while the girls were right next door in the Glamping Tent….it was the perfect arrangement for our party of 5 and it allowed the girls to have their freedoms but still be within a stone’s throw.

Beach Club Experience: The Beach Club is a vibrant hub where guests can lounge by the 70-foot infinity pool, sip on handcrafted cocktails (hello painkillers and pina coladas), and enjoy gourmet dishes at the waterfront restaurant. The atmosphere is lively, making it a great spot to socialize and soak in the sun. Truth be told, I could have enjoyed a second full day lounging by the pool….it’s equally luxe as it is relaxing.

Snorkeling: The resort's proximity to vibrant coral reefs makes it a snorkeler's paradise. We explored the underwater world teeming with colorful fish and marine life, all just a short swim from the shore. Because I’m a gal that will NEVER miss an opportunity to get out on the water, we opted to charter an all day boat excursion with Ocean Runner and it was definitely the highlight of the trip. Capt Chris was incredible and took us to so many amazing spots in the BVI…the Caves, Soggy Dollar and Willy T’s to name a few. Last year, we stayed on the USVI side, but be sure to bring your passport IF you want to venture over to the BVI’s.

Dining: From Freshly Caught Seafood to Hand Crafted Cocktails, the islands do NOT disappoint when it comes to eats. Be sure to hit up Lovango’s SANDPIT for their incredible wood fire pizzas (ps: you don’t have to be a guest to enjoy their restaurants), Longboard’s Blood Orange Margaritas and Tuna Poke Bowls, La Tapa for a gorgeous view and ambiance, Soggy Dollar for an out of this world Lobster Salad and home of the original Painkiller. The list is endless and you’ll stumble upon delish dining all over the islands!

Itinerary: Sharing both this year’s itinerary as well as last year’s as we switched it up ever so slightly. The Lovango team has graciously extended my code BETH for a 10% discount on 2025 bookings. These memories will indeed last a lifetime and we are already making plans to return to the islands in the future…quickly becoming our happy place!
